Order Product Samples is operated by add-ons.org.
The app reads product details and creates unlisted sample products with separate prices. It stores sample rules, source product and sample product IDs, and Shopify authentication sessions. It receives order creation webhooks to count orders containing samples. For each matching order it stores the order ID, order date, month, number of samples, source product IDs and customer ID when present. These records power the merchant's sample analytics.
On a product page, the app receives a product ID to find a matching rule. A customer ordering a sample adds the app-created sample product to the Shopify cart. Shopify handles checkout, payment, shipping, inventory and order records.
Merchant rules and sample-order counts remain until Shopify requests shop data erasure. Customer IDs are removed when Shopify requests customer erasure. Authentication sessions are deleted on uninstall.
